Scanner Frequencies
TFS Radio Frequencies
Toronto Fire Services operates on a Motorola Type II 800 MHz trunked communications system. The system is split into 4 zones. The Alarm Office is staffed each tour with 11 personnel as follows: 1 District Chief, 2 Captains and 8 call takers/dispatchers.
The dispatch talk groups are common to all 4 zones and incidents are dispatched on the appropriate channel. Operationally, Tac 1 is used for single apparatus calls, such as EMS incidents. Tac 2 to Tac 4 are the primary tactical channels. The Ops channel is used for routine, non-emergency traffic.
Those wishing to monitor TFS communications will need to programme their scanners for each command. Talk groups are listed in “Trunktracker” format.
